When in doubt, use the taser. That was the approach Cincinnati police took Tuesday night when an unnamed overly enthusiastic Reds fan stormed the field, evading officers and performing a backflip in front of the crowd. Fans at Great American Ball Park shifted their attention from the Reds' 5-3 loss to the Cleveland Guardians to the antics of the man in a Johnny Bench jersey. He first approached Guardians centerfielder Tyler Freeman, who was unimpressed, then ran with arms raised in triumph before stopping in right-center field. As an officer closed in, the fan executed a perfect backflip but was quickly tased and subdued. Cincinnati police and Reds representatives haven’t respond to requests for comment.
