A Florida woman is accused of illegally selling a monkey to a 15-year-old girl, who was hospitalized after the animal bit her. Joan Newberger, 75, was cited by the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission for possession of captive wildlife for commercial or sanctuary purposes without a permit. She is also facing four counts of illegal possession of conservation animals.
A complaint was filed by the teenager girl and her mother after the girl was taken to the hospital when she was bitten by the capuchin monkey.
