If you thought conversations about menstruation were off the table for breakfast...you'd be wrong. That's because a Swedish women’s intimate health company has released a new cereal called "Period Crunch".
According to their website, Intimina is a company that provides "a comprehensive collection of products and information for women." The brand has decided to expand its repertoire by debuting a breakfast cereal.
"Period Crunch" is a raspberry-flavored cereal shaped like uteri which the brand says is to "raise awareness of the lack of conversations about periods in the home."
The cereal resembles the "structure of a uterus" and bonus! Its mission is even more realistic when milk is poured, as the milk will turn red.
Intimina says that "48% say they are uncomfortable having open conversations about menstruation" and "77% say they've never had a conversation about periods at the kitchen table." And I can honestly say it's a conversation I typically avoid while I eat any meal, as well.
Intimina’s global brand manager, Danela Zagar said, "For the sake of our physical and mental health, we need to talk more about our menstrual health – and that’s what Period Crunch cereal is designed [to] raise awareness of and make a statement about.”
