STUDY: 1 In 5 Spouses Uses Spy Gear On Their Partner Prior To Divorce

A recent study shows that one in five spouses actually use spy gear prior to getting a divorce.

Maguire Family Law, a busy divorce agency with offices located across England and Wales, says that about 20% of exes are engaging in potentially illegal spy activity against their partners. And even further, one in five out of 400 recent clients are currently snooping on their spouses, they told news source, The Independent.

“Spouses use tracking devices, dashes cams, and are putting spying software on mobile phones,” the firm’s managing director, James Maguire explained.

Be careful how you go about it because there are both legal and emotional repercussions at risk. For example, many forms of recordings are not admissible in court, nor is the presentation of any stolen property. Those who are found in violation of these laws, regardless of their partner’s actions, could be punished by being prosecuted for invasion of privacy, among a number of other potential breaches.

Maguire added that spouses who are caught spying on a potentially innocent partner may have only succeeded in facilitating the dissolution of love and intimacy. “For both parties, the outcome is always negative,” he said.
