Cleveland Browns rookie quarterback Shedeur Sanders will remain the team's starter for the final four games of the regular season, head coach Kevin Stefanski announced on Monday (December 8).

Sanders, 23, the son of Pro Football Hall of Fame cornerback Deion Sanders, his head coach at the Jackson State University and the University of Colorado, has started the past three games for the Browns and thrown for 769 yards, five touchdowns and three interceptions on 54 of 103 passing in four appearances, which included a career-best 364 passing yards and three touchdowns passes, as well as his first career rushing touchdown, in Sunday's (December 8) loss to the Tennessee Titans.

"I think [Sanders] has constantly and consistently gotten better in each one of these games and how he's approached this game," Stefanski said via ESPN. "He's been working very hard. So, I feel good about where his development is heading. He knows there are always going to be plays that he can be better and those type of things, but he's very intentional about getting better each and every game he's out there."

Sanders was selected by the Browns at No. 144 overall in the fifth-round of the 2025 NFL Draft, two rounds after fellow rookie Dillon Gabriel, who was selected No. 94 overall. The former Colorado standout entered his rookie season as Cleveland's No. 4 quarterback prior to the team trading veterans Kenny Pickett and Joe Flacco and Gabriel suffering a concussion in Week 11.

The Browns' regular season schedule will conclude with a road game against the Chicago Bears on Sunday (September 14); a home game against Buffalo Bills on September 21; a home game against the Pittsburgh Steelers on December 28; and a road game against the Cincinnati Bengals in a Week 18 matchup to be determined at a later date.
