Florida leads the nation in sports tourism and some in Palm Beach County want to increase it even more.
The Parks and Recreation Department is proposing a so-called "sportsplex" be built that would have well over a dozen championship fields and other amenities to attract year-round tournaments to the area.
It's now yet known where in the county this massive sports complex could be located but how it would be funded is part of the proposal.
Parks officials want Tourism Development Council dollars to be used in the hopes that the "sportsplex" would boost tourism.
