The findings of a House ethics investigation into a South Florida Democrat have been released.

Rep. Sheila Cherfilus-McCormick has been under investigation for nearly the entire time she's been in office.

Newly released findings show "substantial reason to believe" that her campaign and-or congressional office violated campaign finance guidelines multiple times over 2 and a half years to the tune of hundreds of thousands of dollars.

Alleged violations include excessive contributions and unreported transactions. The report cites financial disclosures in noting that Cherfilus-McCormick reported an increase in income by more than $6 million in the leadup to her 2022 special election win to fill a seat vacated by the death of Alcee Hastings.

The Congresswoman says the findings don't mean she's done anything wrong.
