Broward Reopens Rental Assistance Application Portal

Applications are once again being accepted for the Emergency Rental Assistance Program (ERAP) in Broward after the county temporarily closed the portal last month to ensure there's no backlog. Spokeswoman Natalie Beasley says qualified applicants can get up to eighteen months of rent and utility help, from 9-million-dollars in a CARES Act pot. She says the goal is to stop evictions before people are left homeless in the housing crisis. So far, about six-thousand households have received help.
