Huge Iguana Found In Freezer Of Pizza Restaurant In West Palm Beach

Well, here's something you wouldn't expect to find in a pizza joint.

An 80-pound iguana was found in a chest freezer at Pizza Mambo on Dixie Highway by inspectors from the Florida Department of Business and Professional Regulation on June 18. The restaurant was temporarily closed because of the discovery, as well as a slew of other violations.

A Pizza Mambo employee told the Sun Sentinel the iguana was given to the owner as a personal gift to eat later. The employee said the iguana, which was stored in a separate mini-freezer away from the restaurant’s food, was immediately thrown away after the owner was told about the violation.

Pizza Mambo was hit with 27 violations, including having over 20 “rodent droppings” under a dry storage shelf and dead roaches throughout the restaurant.
