Florida's Controversial Homeless Law Takes Effect Today

Thirty-four new state laws take effect this October First, including one banning the homeless from sleeping in public spaces after sundown. Fort Lauderdale Mayor Dean Trantalis says the city is voting on an ordinance today banning encampments 24/7. Broward has an estimated 10-thousand homeless adults and 3-thousand homeless children. Cities and counties can face legal action from residents for failing to comply with the new law beginning January First.
