A proposed Buc-ee's for the Treasure Coast is still waiting for a final approval, but the likelihood of the Texas-based travel center going up in the Fort Pierce area is spurring more potential for growth.

Buc-ee's wants to build on 35 acres off I-95 and Indrio Road a giant store with 120 gas pumps.

Developers are also planning housing units, a K-thru-8 school and fire station nearby and residents tell CBS 12 News they're excited.

"To see that coming to this area, which hasn't really had much development in a while, it's kind of a good sign."

"It's kind of lonely out here but with that coming, it's gonna grow."

There's also a 21-acre wooded lot about four miles away that is listed for sale with the owner marketing it specifically for its proximity to the upcoming Buc-ee's.
