Georgia Bulldogs quarterback and preseason Heisman Trophy frontrunner Carson Beck officially confirmed his relationship with Miami Hurricanes women's basketball guard and influencer Hanna Cavinder in an interview with ESPN's Mark Schlabach published one day prior to his team's Week 1 matchup against Clemson on Saturday (August 31).
Schlabach acknowledged that Beck "confirmed to ESPN this week that he's dating Miami basketball player Hanna Cavinder, a social media star in her own right," while acknowledging the quarterback's growing star power entering his redshirt senior season.
"A lot has changed since 2021," Beck said via ESPN. "You know, I've been through a lot, personally and through football. Sitting and waiting and not playing, and then getting last season to be able to start. Looking back today and being where I'm at now, I'm very appreciative and very thankful of the position that I'm in."
Beck seemed to have previously confirmed his relationship with Cavinder in a post shared on his Instagram account. The quarterback included a photo of himself and the basketball player holding hands in a carousel of images with the caption, "gvo" for "good vibes only" on July 22.
The slides also included a picture of himself in full uniform from a recent photoshoot, as well as one with his mother, another throwing passes and one walking a dog on a beach. Beck was previously seen in a post on Cavinder's TikTok account shared with her twin sister and teammate, Haley, who took a selfie video of herself and her boyfriend, Dallas Cowboys tight end Jake Ferguson, which quickly showed Carson with his arms around Haley in the background on July 4.
Beck took over as Georgia's starter last season following the departure of two-time national champion Stetson Bennett IV. The former four-star prospect threw for 3,941 yards, 24 touchdowns and six interceptions on 302 of 417 passing, while the Bulldogs finished with a 13-1 (8-0 SEC) overall record and No. 4 overall in the final Associated Press poll.
The top-ranked Bulldogs will host No. 14 Clemson at 12:00 p.m. ET on Saturday.
