FAU Poll: Trump Leads DeSantis By 20% Among Florida GOP Registered Voters

If the election were held today, Florida Republicans will still be supporting the former President.

Despite the federal arraignment in Miami on allegations of mishandling classified documents, they vow to still vote for Donald Trump in the GOP primary.

A new FAU PolCom Lab and Mainstreet Research Poll shows Trump maintaining a 50% to 30% lead over Governor Ron DeSantis among GOP registered voters.

Although DeSantis has narrowed the gap with Trump by seven percent since April's survey.

Florida Atlantic University Political Science Chair Dr. Kevin Wagner says, "19% in our poll said that it would be disloyal to vote for anyone other than the former President."

He adds, "We did test Donald Trump in Florida among all voters, and he still had about a 50% approval rating among Floridians. Where he does very well is white, working class voters who have been, ever since I've been testing and polling on Donald Trump, that's always where he's been strong."

When it comes to a head-to-head between Trump or DeSantis against President Joe Biden, either Republican would win with 49% support among all Florida voters.
