Brightline says it will have a Treasure Coast train station within the next five years, but hasn't said where.
The City of Fort Pierce wants it to be there, so city leaders have agreed to put together a design so they can present it to Brightline to prove they are prepared to house a station.
The high-speed rail line currently runs between West Palm Beach and Miami, with stops in Boca Raton and Fort Lauderdale.
An expansion to Orlando is scheduled for this summer with tickets already on sale for Labor Day weekend.
