A project that Brightline calls one of the final structural pieces of its Orlando expansion is winding down on the Treasure Coast.

The railroad bridge that runs over the St. Lucie River in Stuart is now allowing marine traffic through the channel after being kept in the down position for three weeks.

Brightline was working on improvements ahead of the high-speed rail line expanding to Central Florida this summer.

Tickets are already on sale for trips to and from Orlando International Airport as soon as Labor Day weekend.

Brightline says the work wrapped up on the 100-year old bridge a half a day early and the bridge reopened last night.

Meanwhile the drawbridge will be locked in the down position overnights from 8 p.m. to 6 a.m. for the next week.
