Florida Senator Rick Scott wants answers from Homeland Security Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas and Health and Human Services Secretary Xavier Becerra about the death of a migrant child while in the custody of HHS in Safety Harbor, Florida.

Senator Scott along with Representatives Laurel Lee, Gus Bilirakis and Anna Paulina-Luna sent a letter to DHS and HHS demanding answers regarding the circumstances surrounding the death of the 17-year-old migrant from Honduras. The teen was traveling without a parent or guardian and reportedly died in the Office of Refugee Resettlement facility in Florida Wednesday.

Sen. Scott wrote, "While the loss of any life is unacceptable, the death of a child is especially infuriating and demands immediate answers from both departments."

Florida's congressional delegation is requesting a briefing tomorrow and some members will visit the facility where the tragic death occurred.

An investigation by a medical examiner is currently underway.
