Police out in full force in Miami Beach and Ft. Lauderdale as St. Patrick's Day falls on a Friday during Spring Break. Ft. Lauderdale Police Major Bill Schultz says maybe it's the luck of the Irish, but they haven't had any major problems so far. In South Beach, visitors are being warned to expect heavier traffic, street closings, special events and law enforcement crackdowns. There are several other special spring break rules including a twenty-dollar flat rate for city parking garages in the entertainment district, nightly fire inspections on weekends, and double lifeguard staffing.
