Abortion rights activists marking Interntaional Women's Day by protesting at Freedom Tower this afternoon (2-4p) against bills banning the procedure after six weeks. Miami-Dade Democratic Party Chair Robert Dempster says this is an insulting assault on basic freedom. The bills allow exemptions up to fifteen weeks if the mother's health is in jeopardy or for victims of rape or incest. Mailing abortion pills would also be illegal. Florida currently has a fifteen-week ban.
