The co-founder of the popular Salt Life brand has pleaded guilty to killing his teenage girlfriend on Singer Island.

The body of 18-year old Lora Grace Duncan was found in a hotel room with gunshot wounds in 2020. The room had been rented by Michael Hutto and his wallet and I.D. were inside the room.

The man was found at a Jacksonville hospital after suffering from an apparent drug overdose.

He later claimed the two were at the Singer Island Hilton, playing with a gun when it went off.

Hutto initially pleaded not guilty to manslaughter but changed his plea in court on Thursday and a judge sentenced him to 12 years in prison, though he gets credit for 79 days served.

Hutto is no longer affiliated with Salt Life.
