Broward Mayor Gives State Of County Address Before New Mayor Chosen

It's the last day at the helm for Broward Mayor Michael Udine. He's giving the State of the County address before the new mayor and vice mayor are chosen. He says Broward is "strong" he began his term with the theme of a healthy Broward but he's ending it with a transitional Broward. He says they approved a six-point-nine-billion-dollar balanced budged, increased the pay and benefits for all employees and made improvements at the air and sea ports. He says the county's unemployment rate is 2.8-percent compared to 4.8-percent this time last year. Two new Commissioners are being sworn-in today along with three incumbents.
