Red Sox Beat Rays In Rain Shortened Game

The Boston Red Sox (77-84) defeated the Tampa Bay Rays (86-75) 6-0 on Tuesday night. The game was called in the bottom of the fifth inning because of rain in Boston.

Boston got one in the second, and five in the fifth inning thanks in large part to a Xander Bogaerts grand slam. Nathan Eovaldi kept the Rays off balance all night, pitching five innings of shutout ball that saw him allow two hits while striking out four and walking two.

The Rays and Red Sox meet in the regular season finale for both teams on Wednesday afternoon. First pitch is scheduled for 4:10 PM - pregame coverage begins with Pat Donovan and Aaron Jacobson hosting the Inside Pitch at 3:30 PM on 95.3 WDAE & AM 620.
