Authorities on the Treasure Coast arrest a man for allegedly taking pictures up the skirt of a young girl.
27-year old Pedro Valdez is charged with video voyeurism. Martin County Sheriff's Chief Deputy John Budensiek says on the man's phone they found several images of girls and women that he had taken at the Treasure Coast Square Mall and other places.
"He was a hunter. He would follow these girls around. He would blatantly photograph them and video them in some instances."
Budensiek says Valdez admitted to taking the photos and even offered to have deputies look at his phone. He's shocked at how bold the man was.
"We have security there. We have law enforcement. We have a substation in the mall. So that should be a secure place."
He adds that Valdez, who lived in the woods across the street from the mall, would also photograph girls at other shopping areas.
The suspect was arrested for a similar crime in Utah, but on a misdemeanor so he is not a registered sex offender.
Valdez is in jail on $750,000 bond.
Meanwhile, the Sheriff's Office wants to hear from parents whose children may have also been victimized. They're asked to call 772-220-7060.
