Palm Beach Atlantic University is looking for a new head tennis coach after 39-year old Carlos Cardona was arrested on felony charges of sexual battery and burglary.

A university spokesman says Cardona is no longer employed by the college after the arrest earlier this month by Pasco County Sheriff's deputies. He would not comment as to whether the firing was a result of the arrest.

Cardona is accused of entering a woman's home through an unlocked sliding glass door and sexually assaulting her.

The man reportedly admitted to being at the home earlier and intentionally leaving that door unlocked with the intention of returning after the woman was asleep.

Authorities say Cardona admitted to sexually assaulting the victim, but stated he was unable to have sex with her because she resisted.

He was hired by PBAU last August and coached the Sailfish to a 6-9 season.

Cardona has pleaded not guilty.
