A suspect accused of stabbing an Uber driver in Broward County was shot and killed by deputies in Palm Beach County Tuesday night.
Sheriff Ric Bradshaw says authorities found out the suspect was near Lake Worth, and deputies conducted a trafficstop when the man got out of the car, brandishing a knife.
He says deputies tried to de-escalate the situation, but the suspect charged at the deputies, forcing them to shoot and kill him.
"A independent witness that lives in the area came forward and said that he saw everything and put it on his cellphone video, which was good. And we also have the in-car dash video from the deputies' cars that stopped him that we're going to look at."
The sheriff gave a short briefing on the scene.
An independent investigation is being conducted by the Florida Department of Law Enforcement.
