Disney Cuts Performers From Orlando Parks

The latest round of job cuts at Walt Disney World targets some of the most talented performers.

Late Tuesday, the singers and dancers who perform in shows like "Festival of the Lion King" and "Finding Nemo - The Musical" were laid off. Other closing shows include "Beauty and the Beast" and the "Hoop-Dee-Doo Musical Review."

Social distancing rules make it hard to separate cast members who are performing in shows that take place several times a day.

No word on exactly how many performers were let go in the latest round of layoffs.

Disney is eliminating 28,000 jobs at its domestic theme because of the economic downturn caused by the pandemic.
