The National Weather Service yesterday upgraded the tornado that tore through North Palm Beach and Palm Beach Gardens on Saturday to an EF-2, with winds of up to 130 miles per hour. It flipped cars, tore off roofs, toppled trees and cut power. The scenes of the damage include an apartment complex, a townhouse community and the HMY Yacht Club, where the tornado picked up yachts and tossed them in the air. The NWS says the tornado ripped through two and a half miles and was on the ground for eleven minutes. No major injuries were reported. While all the major roadways are reopened, there is a lot of cleanup left to do in the communities effected.
Here is video that someone got of the tornado forming and then hitting land! It is INSANE!
Scary video of a guy and his dog in a car that got stuck in the tornado. The dog whimpering breaks my heart!
It is confirmed that they are both ok.
