A pilot landed a small plane on it’s belly during an emergency landing at a South Florida airport on Tuesday after experiencing faulty landing gear.

The pilot radioed in the emergency after the landing gear on the right side of the plane was not operational around 9:30 a.m.

The pilot flew the plane west of the Everglades for two hours to burn off fuel in the plane’s tank in order to make the emergency landing.

WSVN’s 7SkyForce helicopter captured the moment the plane touched down belly first at Fort Lauderdale Executive Airport’s Runway 31.

The pilot was the only person on board the aircraft.

Fire rescue was on standby at the airport, where that plane did land safely.

No one was hurt.
