Check out this viral video straight out of Chain O' Lakes in Waupaca, Wisconsin. A TikToker mom's video shows a group of kids claiming they've discovered an "alligator" frozen beneath the lake.
As the mom gets closer and checks out what's under the ice, she spots what has grabbed the children's attention, when she suddenly yells: "Oh my gosh, holy c***, yeah! It does look like an alligator! That's just a face."
But, it wasn’t an alligator. One of the kids then exclaims that it’s actually a snapping turtle.
Several commenters on the social platform also weighed in, explaining that snapping turtles will “hibernate under the ice and can breathe through their cloacas until the ice thaws.”
Replying to comments, the TikTok creator added that the turtle is “a legend in this lake. In the summer our friends see it and have named her Large Marge.”
